Applications (apps) define the types of objects that can be stored within a space. They
- Serve as specialized containers, grouping various objects based on shared characteristics.
- Go beyond simple categorization by storing essential metadata.
This concept mirrors the organization of books in different formats, such as printed books, e-books, and audiobooks. Each application represents a distinct format, while the space functions similarly to a literary genre, offering a cohesive environment for related content.
Dawiso application types
There are two main types of applications in Dawiso, knowledge and metadata apps. Apart from these, admin users can also create custom applications.
| App type | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Knowledge apps | Manually create and manage your metadata objects. | Business Glossary, Documentation, Diagrams, Code List |
| Metadata apps | Scan your databases and automatically import all metadata objects and their attributes. | List of available metadata apps |
| Custom apps | If none of the ready-to-use apps suit your needs, create a custom app tailored for your requirements. | To create a custom app, refer to our Packages Documentation. |
