Diagrams in Dawiso provide a visual way to explore and understand objects and their relationships. Instead of browsing through objects, diagrams give you a clear picture of how elements are connected, making it easier to analyze dependencies, context, and data structures.
Every object template in Dawiso includes a diagram section. If multiple diagram types are available for an object, you can switch between them using the tabs at the top of the diagram component.
For more details on how to interact with and modify diagrams, see Actions in Diagrams.
Here, you will find supported actions across most diagram types, such as adding objects, creating relations, adjusting layouts, and working with visual elements.
Diagram types
| Diagram | Description |
|---|---|
| Data lineage | Visualization of how data flows between systems, processes, and objects. Useful for understanding transformations, dependencies, and impact analysis. |
| Data product lineage | Visualize how data products are related through contracts and dependencies, providing a clear view of product-to-product connections. |
| Entity relation diagram (ERD) | Focus on structural relationships between database entities, including attributes and keys. |
| Knowledge graph | Representation of objects and their contextual relationships in a graph structure. They are useful for exploring how business terms, KPIs, and other concepts relate to each other. |
| Modeling diagrams | Fully customizable diagrams for semantic, conceptual, or logical models. These can include both existing objects and new entities, connected with notations such as crow’s foot, and styled with colors and shapes. |
| Relations diagrams | Visualization of all relations for a give object, including where the object is mentioned or referenced across the environment. |
