Step 6 is where you review the whole product, then save it as a draft or publish it live. It is the last of the wizard’s six steps, following Step 5 — Contracts.

What you set here

Step 6 has two parts: a completeness check you must clear, and the choice to save or publish.

The Completeness panel lists everything still required before publishing. Each item has a Fix link that jumps back to the step that owns it. The panel shows a percentage, for example 0%, that rises as you resolve items.

Below the panel, read-only sections summarize the product: Identity, Ownership, Description, Value Proposition, Contracts, Ports, Input Ports, and Internal Data Assets (assets you selected that are not attached to any port).

This step also offers Draft from context — an AI assist that generates the description and value proposition from the product’s details.

When every item is resolved, choose one of two actions:

  • Save For Later — park the product in the announcement state. No Owner needed.
  • Publish Now — make the product live in production. Requires an Owner.

Why it matters

Publishing moves the product to the production workflow state. It becomes live, listed as trusted, and shoppable in the Data Market.

Rules the wizard enforces

The wizard enforces these rules before it lets you publish:

  • Every completeness item must be resolved. Publishing requires Space, Domain, Name, ID, Product Type, Visibility, Description, Value Proposition, and at least one data asset attached to each output port (for example the Primary Output port).
  • An Owner is required to publish. Without one, Publish Now stays disabled. No other ownership role is required — Steward, Custodian, SME, and Producer can all be empty. See Ownership.
  • The action sets the workflow state. Save For Later keeps the product in announcement — parked, and not visible in the Data Market. Publish Now moves it to production.

Recommendations

These help you judge whether the product is genuinely ready for consumers:

  • Resolve every Fix item before publishing — the Fix links jump straight to what is missing.
  • Use Save For Later to park a product that is not ready yet.
  • Publish only when the product is ready for consumers to depend on.

The review gate is what separates a draft from a product people can trust and buy. Once published, the product appears in the Data Market.
